Dear Backers,
As you may have noticed, SNK have decided to halt our Kickstarter campaign with a Cease & Desist, for which we are very sorry. Our book paid homage to the company behind a great machine. One that made a lasting impact on our personal lives as gamers. The reasons for this suspension are still unclear; our book is the result of a massive journalistic undertaking (over two years of research), the visuals used are only there to illustrate a point, and it makes no claim to be an "art book". Sadly, while we thought we had come to a clear agreement, SNK has cut off all communications...
David vs. Goliath
Despite our best efforts and the agreement we came to, we are confronted with a situation that we just cannot handle. It's hard for a small company like ours to wage legal war on one their size. We simply do not have the financial means to take any legal action, and besides, this book was supposed to sound the company's praises, not turn them into an enemy.
Will the Neo·Geo Anthology ever be released?
With SNK refusing to respond to any of our attempts to communicate, there's really no way we can know for sure. Once again, we're doing everything we can to make sure the English version of the Neo·Geo Anthology sees the light of day, though it seems SNK have other plans, and we can only speculate about them for the time being.
The future...
Again, we cannot apologize enough about the situation and would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for having stood by us all the way through this campaign. This has come as a massive blow to us, but we are slowly finding out feet again, and working tirelessly on a new project that we know is going to be exceptional. We hope you can place the same trust in us for this upcoming project.
