Aber ganz ohne Winden geht's dann doch nicht. Anstatt einfach "Glückwunsch und auf gute Zusammenarbeit" kommt dann auf Nachfrage bei den republikanischen Senatoren so ein Gestammel raus:

"I think", "there was encouragement to accept the result", dazu Rumheulen, dass man es sich ja eigentlich ganz anders vorgestellt hätte, buhuhu, und generell diese seltsame Art, so zu tun, als würde man hier gerade etwas ganz Nobles tun und Opfer bringen - sich dem Ausgang einer Wahl in einer Demokratie fügen. Ja, Applaus. Als hätten sie eine andere Option. Die sind echt nicht mehr ganz frisch, aber die müssen wohl in dem Klima, was da drüben mittlerweile länger herrscht, jedes Wort auf die Goldwaage legen, damit ihnen nicht von ihren eigenen bewaffneten Wählern nachts an der Tür aufgelauert wird oder, noch schlimmer, sie abgewählt werden.
