The film is comprised entirely of computer-generated imagery. No live-action footage is included in the final result. According to The Los Angeles Times, Jon Favreau did sneak one non-CGI shot into the film "...to see if anybody would be able to pick it up". However, he hasn't revealed what that shot is.
