Our big news! We were thrilled to be able to announce that we are working on Beyond a Steel Sky, the long-awaited sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky. Beyond a Steel Sky is in development for PC, console, and Apple devices. Stay tuned for more information about release dates, features and more!
Charles and Dave Gibbons (comic-book artist and writer behind Watchmen, Kingsmen, and of course collaborator on Beneath a Steel Sky) have been keen to write the game for several years. We are delighted to confirm that Dave returns to bring his creative genius to the project world, characters, and story.
Set in a quirky dystopian, cyberpunk future, the game continues the adventures of Robert Foster. Exploring the concepts of AIs in society, the meaning of happiness, the deep flaws of humanity, and much more besides, this is very much a story for our time.
Some of you keen observers will have spotted job positions being advertised through our Social Media channels - firstly a Producer, then Level Designers, and most recently an Animator. The reason, of course, was that we were quietly building a talented team to write Beyond a Steel Sky.
The entire team is excited to be working on this venture. In fact, our CTO joined us after helping to port the original Beneath a Steel Sky to ScummVM and has been looking forward to working on a sequel ever since!

Charles attended the star-studded Apple Event at which Apple Arcade was announced - which included appearances by Steven Spielberg, JJ Abrams, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston and many others. We are thrilled that the game is a lead title for Apple Arcade, and delighted to be continuing to work closely with Apple. The original Beneath a Steel Sky was published on the iPhone in 2009, followed by remastered versions of Broken Sword 1 and 2 (Broken Sword 1 had 2.5 million downloads when featured by Apple as part of their 12 Days of Christmas promotion). Their successes on the iOS platforms, which proved ideal for playing point and click adventures, allowed Revolution to fund a prototype for Broken Sword 5, which we then successfully Kickstarted (a huge thank you to all those who supported it!) and the rest, as they say, is history…
A hugely ambitious adventure, Beyond a Steel Sky is the culmination of Revolution’s 30 years of experience writing adventure games.

For all of you that are interested in our latest announcement, but know nothing of the original game, Beneath a Steel Sky, then fear not!
Beneath a Steel Sky is free on GOG ([https://revolution.us11.list-manage.com/track/click?u=23b45ccddc729bb253452ec43&id=710b433482&e=011fb18fba)], and the Remastered edition can be found on the App Store for iOS devices. The perfect opportunity to discover (or rediscover) a classic point and click adventure from 1994 - and our first game we released on mobile devices! With environments drawn by Dave Gibbons, Beneath a Steel Sky is a classic, award winning adventure that is warmly remembered by many adventure fans.
