Voting has come to Sunset Overdrive! This means that you have power over what you see next in the game. For a more in-depth look at what you’ll be voting on – check out today’s Sunset TV for all that information.
Right now, we just wanted to expand on the Vote Point system that we developed to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard and has value. The basic idea is that every time you vote on something that loses – you are given all your vote points back with a bonus. And if you keep voting for the losing option – the bonus points you get exponentially increase. This means that people who have a knack for losing build up their voting power over time and have a bigger say in the next vote. It should limit frustration and keep things balanced.
So, vote points! How do you get these elusive creatures? Well, there are a couple ways.
Logging into the game will get you points! So, you’ll get a point just for playing. And if you play consecutive days – you get bonus points. Day 2 of your log-in will get you 2 points instead of one – and so on. That bonus lasts up to 7 days before it resets. So, if you have to leave for a bit, you won’t be incredibly behind when you log back on.
Completing Individual Weekly Challenges will sometimes net you a good chunk of vote points. For instance, if you complete this week’s challenge – you get 650 points.
If you want to see how many vote points you have, you can see that number from the Vote menu at any Sunset TV station. And remember that any time you vote, all of your current points are used to influence the outcome. But, if your desired preference loses, you get those points back with a bonus.
