Hmm, genau das meinte ich ja. Aus dem Teamxbox Review:
If you play with someone in their instance and they are much further than you, you will not get any credit in your instance for those missions being complete. You will, however, get to keep all the XP, loot and cash that you pick up along the way. If you are relatively near in the game’s story, then any missions you complete in someone else’s instance will be completed when you get back to your instance.
