Zwar geht es hier "nur" um Games und nicht um das im Alltag wesentlich kritischere Smartphone, aber ja, der Vergleich gilt generell für geschlossene Systeme.

Epic will das eigentlich nicht. Sie wollen ihr Zeug selbst verkaufen oder zumindest nicht ein Drittel des Umsatzes Apple in den Rachen werfen. Epic selbst nimmt nur 12% und hält auch kein künstliches Monopol auf einer Plattform aufrecht. Die Unreal Engine gibt's für 5% - und da steckt mehr Wert für ein Game drin als in einem Appstore. Man hat dort halt nicht die Wahl. Apple bedeutet halt "Friss oder stirb".

Hmm, falls das so ist stimmt, ist das natürlich überzogen (zumindest der erste Teil). Ich gehe davon aus, dass das Schreiben rein rechtliche Gründe für den Prozess hat. Sweeney ist kein Idiot.
